Hot Topic opening on Court Street
It's Official!
Hot Topic, the store that specializes in punk/metal fashion and merchandise, is leasing the space that used to be occupied by Blockbuster on Court Street.
Projected to open by October 2008, their 691st store will allow teens from HilBloeCoc and beyond to get their hands on officially licensed wares from Korn, Good Charlotte, Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance, and many many more.
As you may have guessed, I am VERY unhappy about this unexpected development. First, the ridiculous Urban Outfitters on Atlantic - and now THIS???
Have you ever been unfortunate enough to walk the streets of Carroll Gardens at school dismissal time? It's a nightmare! These kids today, with their hip-hop be-bop (and whatnot) are already cluttering up our usually serene sidewalks.
Now we'll have to endure a shop that seems all-too-happy to promote a misfit teenage lifestyle. (They even promote a band called The Misfits!) Do we want gaggles of no-good skateboarders lollygagging outside this putrid mall-style store looking for trouble? NO!
IMHO: I think we concerned Carroll Gardeners should at least start a petition - although a protest wall would be a more suitable option. Who's with me?

Thank god. I was tired of going all the way to williamsburg to buy my irony.
hmm where exactly is this store, the adress specifically.
288 Court Street
You're an idiot. And perhaps you should listen to "the misfits" some time, so you could at least have something to base your argument on. Don't be so quick to pass judgment on others, especially when you have no idea what you're talking about. Punk kids, goth kids, etc. are no worse or better then any other kids. All they want to do is express themselves. And I will tell you, punk rock and metal don't curse or use obsenities nearly as much as the more popular music out there on the radio. So shut up and stop judging something you know nothing about.
LOL funny you say all this but their are kids walking on sidewalks with their pants below their ass sayin wut up son my nigga. Have you seen them?? A mojority of those kids though they don't seem like are clean cut and mis-understood so please becarefull what you say about others i am a goth emo and i am hurt by this i go to school and have good grades and i don't listion to music that talks about a guy sleeping with a girl then leaving her for another girl or talking about money no I am proud to be who i am
Kids should not be allowed to dress themselves till they move out of their parents house.
They should also have jobs by age 12.
Whoa hold up, there is nothing wrong with hot topics. I've gone to the one at queens center mall and its full of cool and nice people. unlike people who don't understand this lifestyle please just stop putting it down Everyone has a mind of their own with different interest. I think you should have learned to never judge a book by it's cover. What a shame
